The miracle of Hudson river (photos and video)
The first images of the plane crash upset the whole world: an airplane is floating in the Hudson River and the passengers are standing on the wings waiting for the rescuers
What has happened is something you all certainly know very well now. I was in Valencia working when the newscats started reporting this incredible story that seems to come out from the plot of a Bruce Willis' movie much more than straight out from reality. An airplane crashed in Manhattan, New York, but all the passengers are alive and well because the pilot (who now is understandably a national hero) managed to do a crash landing directly in the only place where they have a chance to survive: The icy-cold Hudson River.
Chesley B. Sullenberge, the pilot that landed an Airbus on the Hudson River and saved 155 lives is now nicknamed Captain Cool
The route of the airplane; 3,5 minutes after take off in LaGuardia Airport, due to collisions with birds the Airbus A320 with 155 passengers on board had a splashdown in the Hudson River
This is a gallery of agencies pictures of this story collected via Daylife, something it will be hard to forget.
Security cameras caught on video the splasdown:
