A truly exceptional dishwasher

It was just a week ago that I wrote a post about a nice advertising campaign, consisting in a wonderfully rendered computer graphics octopus in a kitchen, and today I've stumbled in a pretty similar one.
This time the ad is not playing with the fishy smell of the octopus, but rather with its sticky pads, infact the client is Vileda the famous rubber gloves brand.

The creator is Garrigosa Studios, an agency which is responsible for the creative ads behind brands like 7-Up, Honda, Nike and Audi. Based in Barcelona, Spain, the company is a full service photography and retouching studio that brings campaigns to life in unexpected ways. Their work has earned them several prestigious awards including the coveted Cannes Lion in numerous categories, over many years.

there's a fishy smell in the kitchen...

If we speak about advertising campaigns, in my opinion there's nothing better than PLATINUM FMD, a brazilian studio which has become famous for their visually astounding campaigns realized with a mixture of 3d, Photoshop and studio photography.

take a look to these previous SeaWayBLOG posts:

In this case it's a campaign for a producer of extractor hoods for kitchen, playing with the bad smell you can have in your kitchen after having cooked some fish....

Chimeras of the digital age (part 2)

Many time ago I've published a gallery of pictures realized with Photoshop. I called theam "Chimeras of the digital age" because they were the fusion of an aquatic animal with a not aquatic one. It's time to add a second part: this time the artists have merged an aquatic animal with a vegetable! The source of both galleries is Worth1000, a famous creative contest community on the web. Every day they run a few different types of creative contests (photo-editing, photography, illustration and more). Enjoy these impossible but pretty funny creatures:

Melon Turtle

Banana Fish

PotaToad

This clever and beutifully designed environmental ad, inspired by the famous 80s arcade videogame Arkanoid has been created by designer Alexander Nedelev, aka rw-winder. You can know his works at his website

The following are two other subjects from the same capaign, called IT'S NOT a gaME anymore, against the impoverishment of natural resources:

The umpteenth WWF capaign to raise awareness against the global warming. As usual it's very nice, so nice that I think that the idea could have devoleped further and other different fishmen (or squidman, octopusman, sharkman, crabman.. the possibilities are almost endless) could have been created. Don't you think?

Yet another truly inspired global warming awareness campaign.

This time its the turn of Green Korea, an organization for the protection and conservation of the environment. The idea of human shaped island is brilliant and the realization too, the "Hand" island really resembles those fantastic rocks full of plants you can find in the Phuket area in Thailand. I find the "Face" island somehow less effective, probably because the hand is more recognizable and give a better sense of impending tragedy.

Global Warming is and has been a very hot topic for the creatives around the world.

Isn't there some fishy smell?

Another nice campaign for our Advertising section. In this case we're talking about "Super Lock Food Containers" which with their slogan "Lock in the right place" suggest us a solution for unpleasent smells.
The genuine idea of the agency has been replacing moustache with varied parts of fish. The result is awesome and have granted them an award in the Cannes Advertising Fetsival of 2007

Water Shrews: a Matrix fight

If you've liked "Oktapodi", the animated short movie I've posted some days ago probably you'll be delighted to see another short cartoon: "Our Incredible Nature". This time the protagonists are the Water Shrews, those little aquatic rodents. Enjoy their fight for mating in a glorious Matrix slow-motion style.
