A church on a truck
A peaceful landscape covered in snow and... a church on a truck!?!
It has happened Thursday at the Varnes Lutheran Church, which was located about 11 miles from Fertile in Liberty Township in Polk County, Minnesota, and has been moved into the town of Fertile. It took about five hours to move the 100,000 pound church that stood 70 feet tall up to the weather vane atop the steeple. The church had been empty, having the last service at Christmas time in 2004, but to guard against vandalism and other elements they moved it down Polk County #44 and Highway 102 to it's location in the fairgrounds. The church was built in 1890.
