The fleeting beauty of the snowflakes
Yesterday Winter has come, in three days it will be Christmas and, at least here in the Northern Hemisphere, it's the time of snow. If you look closely at falling snow, you can see many different crystal shapes. There's a lot more to see than you might think, so enjoy this little gallery of snoflakes captured by Kenneth G. Libbrecht using a specially designed snowflake photomicroscope. If you find interesting these pictures you really should visit Snowflakes.com which is the most complete online resource about snow crystals. You will find there everything about this fleeting beauty.
